How we work with clients.
01

Approach.

Our design approach is grounded in research, creative exploration, and focused execution. We see the creation of memorable, functional spaces as a process of discovery, refinement, and continuous curiosity. For us, every project must be understood within its wider context — cultural, environmental, social, technical, and spatial.

This curiosity drives us to investigate the broader circumstances surrounding each project, seeking insight and inspiration beyond the immediate brief. We draw connections to material culture, science, technology, art, and landscape, allowing each design to emerge from a rich and informed process. By challenging assumptions and avoiding fixed preconceptions, we open the design process to a wider spectrum of ideas and possibilities.

This exploratory mindset is supported by clear communication and disciplined project management, ensuring that our concepts are not only creative and meaningful, but also deliverable within the agreed budget, timeline, and project objectives.

02

Research.

At FBandP, research is the foundation of our design process. It informs, shapes, and defines every aspect of our work — from understanding the nature of a challenge and its wider context, to guiding creativity, strategy, feasibility, and the internal dynamics of each project. Most importantly, it keeps user experience at the center of our thinking.

Through research, we gain the insight needed to question assumptions, push boundaries, and pursue meaningful impact beyond purely formal or formulaic solutions. We allow knowledge to guide our pace and approach, listening carefully and asking the right questions before moving into action.

This mindset is deeply embedded in our culture. From shaping strategic direction to refining practical feasibility, we place high value on continuous research, exploration, and the opportunities they reveal. For us, research is not simply a stage in the process; it is the driving force that keeps our work relevant, responsive, and forward-looking.

03

Environment.

The performance of a building is an open-ended responsibility, extending beyond any single organization, user, or owner. For us, sustainability is not a checklist item, but a fundamental design commitment. Environmental performance goes beyond the responsible use of energy and materials, and beyond reducing carbon emissions and waste. It involves learning from natural processes and systems, identifying opportunities for creative reuse, and developing new ways to establish positive, self-sustaining cycles of environmental value.

Architecture has the power to shape people, places, environments, and communities. Our aim is to ensure that this impact is meaningful, responsible, and long-lasting. This thinking is embedded in our design process from the very beginning; it is part of how we work. To us, architectural sustainability means designing intelligently, building with future flexibility in mind, and encouraging our partners, whenever possible, to invest in a long-term vision that creates lasting value.

04

Modelling.

Design modelling gives us creative freedom while providing our clients with clarity. It allows our process to remain iterative, responsive, and open to opportunity, helping us develop ideas more fully and explore possibilities with greater precision.

In this way, change does not compromise the design; it enriches it. Modelling allows creativity to remain active throughout the process, turning each digital or handcrafted model into a prototype of our problem-solving approach. It is both a design tool and a communication tool, enabling clearer dialogue, stronger collaboration, and more meaningful engagement with our clients, consultants, and project partners.

05

Collaboration.

Collaboration is instinctive to FBandP. It is not limited to specific project stages, but shapes every part of our work, from the first inquiry to the final outcome. Throughout the process, we continue to ask questions, listen carefully, and engage in open dialogue, creating an environment that is inclusive, responsive, and constructive.

Partnership is central to both what we do and how we do it. We work with clients, consultants, and collaborators who share our values, ambitions, and commitment to meaningful design. This collaborative approach strengthens the role of design, transforming it from a single phase into a continuous, project-long experience that brings clarity, alignment, and shared purpose.

06

Technology.

Technology enables us to achieve exceptional outcomes. It opens new possibilities, supports realization, and strengthens both creativity and efficiency. Our use of design technologies allows us to understand projects more deeply and, as a result, design with greater precision and purpose. Beyond simply evolving the way we work, technology is fundamentally transforming the role of the architect, allowing us to engage with projects in new and more strategic ways.

Whether used to extract insight and inform early-stage decision-making, or to support prototyping and testing during design development, technology helps us approach challenges from fresh perspectives. It allows us to explore new ideas, refine solutions, and make more informed design decisions. Technology is also reshaping how buildings and architectural elements are produced. We embrace the opportunities offered by modern methods of construction and continuously seek better, smarter, and more effective ways to design, build, and deliver.
